My goal with hubby back is to fit in a monthly getaway for work or personal vibes.

This month was a Staycation x work event in D.C.

I attended @connectmeetings Winter Market and stayed at the @grandhyattdc in one of the newly renovated sleeping rooms.

I hung out with old and new industry friends. Met with over 25 industry suppliers (like speed dating-style). Made it to some super cute local spots and just had a good time.

These monthly getaways give me so much life! I get to step away from all my typical duties and recharge.

I will never stop encouraging all the mamas to find a way recharge...whatever that means for you!

Being a mom can both drain all the life out of you and give you life, depending on the day, the journey, Etc.

The cheat code is realizing when momming is doing more draining than giving. You, my friend, have the power to climb out of that "draining era" you've been in for however long.

If you're just finding my account, stick around and get in on the wave of kick starting your "And era"- the part of your life where you add AND after your mom title.

It's kinda like professional credentials (PhD, PMP, CPA, etc), but it's not limited to leveling up professionally. You can be a mom and level up in any other area of your life that fulfills you!

The goal is to get out of that monotony you've beenbin for however long. Quit living the same day over and over!

This is a new requirement as of January 2024. If you established your business before 2025, you have until January 2025 to submit. If you established your business in 2024, you have 90 days to report (FINCEN should have alerted you).

The @youversion app is always right on time. Today, the story of the day made me think about how often I make plans and not once let God in on them 😬

I'm not necessarily a huge long-term planner, but honey, my short-term plans be poppin🤣🤣

Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that it's cool to make plans, but at the end of the day, God's will is going to take precedence. That doesn't mean throw your planner away. That just means you might want to make God part of your planning.

I was specifically challenged to ask God what plans I need to add to my list. Sometimes, I do feel like I'm just out here spinning my wheels going nowhere, and it's most likely because I'm doing things that aren't even really for me to do.

So, my goal for October is to not waste a minute of my time doing things without first making sure it's God-approved. I don't want to expel unnecessary energy anymore. I want all my efforts to count and be blessed to amount to something. I'm not working hard for nothing!

Something no one tells you about being in business is the no's never stop! I don't care how long you've been in business. You're still going to hear the word no, sometimes. It's part of the nature of business.

But I've got good news for you! If you're like me, them no's used to hit hard. I took every no personal and felt like it was something I did wrong. Until, one day I realized it really is true that what's for you is for you!

My therapist reminded me that no means Next Opportunity!

That helped change my perspective, and I hope it does the same for you. If what's for you is for you, a little or big no shouldn't get you off track!

Now, when I hear things like "not interested", "we don't need your services", "not now", or even "take me off your list", I don't get as shattered. I literally remember that the next opportunity is on the way, and clearly, that person/company isn't meant to be my client. And that's okay!

If you really want to boss up, you have to quit taking no so personal. Remember that God is working on your behalf and pray for the right opportunities to come your way!
