    About MOMentarily Gone

Since August of 2024, I have been on a radical self-care journey to take a monthly break from all the mom, household, and wife duties that typically consume my days. I take a monthly trip, leaving my family behind so I can get the break I need and deserve. I strategically filled my calendar with girls’ trips, work trips, speaking engagements, solo hotel stays, and trips to visit family. Every single month, I have packed my bags and left. I started a series on social media to share my journey. You can catch up on the MOMentarily Gone Series on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

After the first episode of my series, I decided to name my series, and that is how MOMentarily Gone was born! In the series, I share my journey of leaving my family once a month and encourage other moms to be intentional about taking their own break, in whatever form works best for them.

Now, through curated MOMentarily Gone Experiences, I am giving you and other moms a chance to get in on the action. Yes, we gather to leave our families behind, MOMentarily!

The very first MOMentarily Gone Staycation took place in January 2026 with dinner at Sixty Vines in Reston, VA, and a one-night at the beautiful Residence Inn by Marriott Reston. The second staycation took place in June 2026, featuring a thoughtfully curated Gifting Suite, dinner at Earl’s Kitchen + Bar in Tysons, VA, and a one-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center.

Want to be an Event Sponsor?

The MOMentarily Gone movement is all about giving moms the reset they deserve, and we love partnering with businesses who want to pour into women in a meaningful and memorable way. Sponsorship helps us enhance the experience for the moms attending by providing curated gift bags, activating a gifting suite, adding special activities at no cost to attendees, and even offsetting the cost of our ladies’ dinner.

Your support allows us to create a getaway that feels restful, elevated, and full of intentional touches that remind moms they matter too. Sponsors can contribute products, services, experiences, or financial support that directly impact the quality of the staycation.

If your brand cares about women, wellness, family, or self‑care, this is a powerful opportunity to help moms step away, breathe, and return home refreshed. We would love to collaborate with you.

      Want to Sponsor a Mom?

Over the past year of exploring my MOMentarily Gone journey, one thing has become very clear to me: there are so many moms who never get a break—not because they don’t need one, but because they don’t have the support or financial means to take it.

      That’s been sitting with me.

As I plan the MOMentarily Gone Experiences, I want to open the door for something beautiful: sponsoring a mom who needs a pause but can’t make it happen on her own.

If you are in a position to sponsor a mom, your support would allow her to step away, rest, and be cared for—if only MOMentarily.

If this is something you feel called to be part of, please reach out to me directly (admin@greatlifeisamust.com). I’d love to share more and walk through the details with you.

Because rest shouldn’t be a luxury reserved for a few.
And sometimes, being the reason a mom gets a break is the greatest gift.

      FAQs

Who are MOMentarily Gone Experiences for?

These experiences are for any mom who needs a pause—and we all do! Whether you’re a new mom, seasoned mom, stepmom, bonus mom, or grandmother, you are welcome. If you’ve been feeling tired, stretched thin, or simply craving time to reconnect with yourself, this space was created with you in mind.

What is the exact date of the next MOMentarily Gone Rendezvous & Staycation?

The next date is not set yet. Join the email list for event alerts!

Can you host a MOMentarily Gone Experience in my city?

I would love to hear your suggestions on locations to host another staycation. Please email me to share your suggestion!

Is there a cost to attend?

Yes. Costs will vary based on the type of experience, location, and included activities, but all pricing details will be clearly outlined once event details are finalized. My goal is to always create a meaningful and accessible experience while delivering a high-quality opportunity for moms.

      Can I come alone?

Each MOMentarily Gone experience has included moms who attended without bringing a friend. The experiences are designed in a way that makes all moms feel welcomed and comfortable whether attending alone or with friends.

      Can I invite a friend?

Absolutely! I welcome you to tell another mom who needs a break, because we all do! If you have mom friends, bring them all along for the vibes!

Will I have to share a room with someone else?

You will have the option to book the room type of your choice. Should you choose to arrange a roommate, you can do so at your discretion.

Will there be a schedule of events?

Staycation experiences are intentionally unstructured. Extended travel experiences will naturally feature more structure and activities. However, the goal is rest, freedom, and ease—not schedules or expectations. The schedule of events will always leave room for maximum free-time and all activities will remain optional. At registration, you will have a chance to indicate your intent to participate in each activity.

      Will there be childcare provided?

No childcare will be provided. MOMentarily Gone Experiences are designed as an intentional time
away from those kids you love so dearly. If you are unable to be away from your children over these dates, I welcome you to attend the next staycation!

What if this is my first time away from my kids?

That is more than okay. Many moms attending may be taking their first intentional break, too. This space is meant to feel safe, supportive, and judgment-free. You are allowed to rest. You will have plenty of time to check in with your family, if you wish.

What if I feel nervous or guilty about being away from my kids?
That’s normal, and you’re not alone. MOMentarily Gone Experiences exists because moms deserve rest without having to earn it or explain it.

What is the Attire for MOMentarily Gone Experiences

Feel free to pack and wear whatever makes you comfortable. For dinner, the suggested attire will typically be your favorite  girls’ night look. This is simply to give us a chance to feel fabulous, which may not be often for some moms. As a note, there will likely be moments to capture your experience through photos or videos. However, you are still free to wear whatever you like.

      How will updates be shared?

All moms on the official invite list will receive event updates via email leading up to each experience.

Don't feel pressured to partake in the planned activities, take advantage of the opportunity to do something for yourself guilt free.

If you need time away from the family to connect with other moms who just get it, this is for you. A night to just dress up, look cute, have glass of wine, and enjoy with other moms.

MOMentarily Gone was so so good!! Just the right balance of community and space if that makes sense, we had time to connect with other women and reconnect with ourselves. Would absolutely go again and recommend to my friends who are moms!

You should do it! The space and time you get to yourself is worth it! You never know how much you really need it.

         by Patrice

This is a moment that is needed. A moment for moms to just relax, rest, reset, and unwind for an evening. It’s a wonderful time to say yes to yourself and to leave it all behind. During this time and staycation, nothing else other than YOU matters. So say YES TO YOU!

        Just Do It!

The January MOMentarily Gone experience was something special. Despite the winter chill, the atmosphere was full of warmth and connection. Four women, each with her own journey, found common ground in the gift of uninterrupted time — no kids, no partners, just presence.

We shared stories, affirmed one another, enjoyed great food and drinks, and embraced the joy of getting dressed up simply because we deserved to.

If you’re considering this experience, take the leap. You’ll be pleased you did.

        Grateful for This Staycation

I can’t even put into words how much I needed the MOMentarily Gone Staycation. I wasn’t looking for it, but it found me exactly when I needed a reset. One day might not sound like a lot, but "necessary" is the only word that fits.

Meeting the other women felt like reconnecting with old friends, the laughter and support were so effortless. A huge thank you to our host, Stephani, for the extraordinary venue’s and the thoughtful personal touches that made us feel welcomed and seen.
